A graduate from NTU in Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics, Coach Shawn Choo was working with a software company before he ventured into his own startup, Weslab that provides training and development in open source software to some of the most innovative companies in Singapore such as A*Star, Philips Electronics and Continental Automotive. A serendipity meeting with his high school basketball coach one day in 2008 ignited his buried passion and love for basketball.

Over a decade of coaching for international and local schools including a two-year stint with the national youth squads, Shawn has developed his own methods in engaging his students at any level to achieve the skills needed for team sports. His priority is individual character development and team building, which determines good sportsmanship.

As a father to four children, he believes that team sports help children to be an all-rounder with good self-esteem which sets the stage for success in adulthood.
